Standardized Test Preparation
A list of tips to help you make the most of your standardized test-taking experience
If you are planning on going to college, you will likely have to take one or
more standardized tests, like the ACT or the SAT (see:
information on different kinds of standardized tests).
Granted, this is not the greatest way to spend a Saturday morning and tons of
money. But, in order to make sure you get the results you want from the
standardized tests you take, it really helps to be as prepared as you possibly
can be. With the help of some experienced educators, we have put together a list
of tips that can help you make the most of your standardized test-taking
experience.
Use free or low-cost test preparation materials.
You don’t have
to pay a high price for test preparation materials or for a test preparation
service. There are plenty of resources available to you for little or no cost
that can give you valuable help in preparing for the tests you are taking,
including sample questions, tests and sample essay topics. Talk to your guidance
counselor about where to find the best test preparation resources for the
particular test you are taking.
